If there’s one thing I love as much as doing hair and makeup, it’s browsing, buying and trying hair and makeup products. I was a product junkie long before I had my own business, but now I have the perfect excuse every time I get the urge to pop into Boots or place another online order. I’m just road-testing everything for you, my lovely clients!
Today I’m going to focus on the hair products I use and love in my Bristol and Swindon salons. I favour cruelty free products, so as well as being good for your hair, they’re good for the soul. Basically, no cute, fluffy animals were harmed in the making of your gorgeous new do! Let’s dive in…
Color Wow
Color Wow is a female-founded haircare brand that focuses on solving your toughest hair problems. Whether it’s colour protection, frizz control, or thicker, fuller hair that you’re after, their formulas have changed the hair game. This from the Colour Wow website sums up why I love the brand so much. These products really work!

Style on Steroids Colour Safe Texturizing Spray is my hero. It creates volume and hold without any tackiness. It’s also heat protecting and the perfect product to use for second day styling as it can be used on dry hair.
Dream Coat Supernatural Spray is my other go-to. One for my frizzy haired friends, it makes your hair look and feel incredible. It’s 100% humidity proof and it lasts for up to 4 washes. As its heat activated, it does require a little blow dry action, but I promise it’s worth it.
MUK
MUK is an exciting Australian owned professional haircare brand. Founded in Melbourne in 2006, they are 100% approved and accredited by PETA as cruelty free. They do not test on animals, nor have they ever tested on animals. As well as having excellent eco-credentials, the products are amazing.
I will always recommend their shampoos and conditioners, especially the DEEP MUK Ultra Soft range, but right now my hero product would have to be FAT MUK Volumising Dust Powder. If your hair lacks volume, it’s a must-have. You only need a very small amount focused on the roots.
